Targeting specific calendar events to audiences problem

We have MOSS 2k7. Setup an events calendar. Created an audience in the SSP
which contains an AD security group. Compiled the audience.

We then add this audience to specific calendar items in order to only show
them to the target audience.

However anyone can still see these events.

Is there something we are missing?

Thanks.
