Re: MOSS Enterprise vs. Standard

I am still looking for something more concise. This is a lot of tabs and
lot of comparisons. Very comprehensive but not something you can show to a
person who does not know SharePoint.

So ignore Forms Server for right now.

1. Standard or Enterprise from a server point of view is determined by what
version of Windows Server you are running (Standard or Enterprise). The
price of MOSS is the same either way. Correct?

2. Functionality for individuals is determined by whether or not Standard
or Enterprise CAL's were purchased.

Specific items only available in Enterprise include (to make sure I am
reading the spread*** correctly):

1. Utilizing the Business Data Cataloge

2. Excel Services (a big, big one)

3. Dashboards and KPI's

4. Report Center

5. Filtered Web Parts

Anything else major I missed?

They are actually the same content (your link and Victor S's link).

When the Minnesota SharePoint User Group's version came out it seemed very
familiar and I checked it against your link. It's exactly the same apart
from the first page (and the reference to the Minnesota SharePoint User
Group and the thanks to our sponsor that are on every page). In other
words it's a copy taken from that Microsoft paper (which even includes the
"copyright Microsoft" !!) and made into a PowerPoint presentation.

Illegal ? Maybe. In any case people would be wise to use your official
link because any updates to the information will be made (by Microsoft)
there.
