Preplexed by SPS2003 backup/restore

I want to copy a SPS2003 installation to another installation (to test
upgrading to 2007).
On the current SPS2003 system, I ran:
spsbackup.exe /all /file c:\spsbackup\backup /ovewrite
This created these files:
backup.xml
backup-PortalP1_SERV_SPSSERVER.SPB
(where "Portal" is the name of the portal (I guess) and SPSSERVER is the
name of the portal server machine)
I copied these files to another system (in another domain). That system has
SPS2003 installed with SQL Server on another system. SPS2003 is currently
up and running in this other domain.
I then ran spsbackup.exe on the server where I want to restore the backup.
I ran it in GUI mode, and selected the backup.xml file after I shared the
folder it exists in (along with the .SPB file) so I could access it using a
UNC path name.
When I select this file, then click on the "All server fram components" item
in the tree in the grid at the bottom, says this in the grid at the bottom
for SITEDBS:
The file \\thisserver\sharename\backup-SQLSERVER-PortalP1_SERV.SPB was
not found....
In the above name, "Portal" is the name of the portal and "SQLSERVER" is the
name of the SQL Server of the backed up system.
So it looks like spsbackup.exe backed up to a file named
"backup-PortalP1_SERV_SPSSERVER.SPB", but the restore is looking for
"backup-SQLSERVER-PortalP1_SERV". It is looking for the name of the SQL
Server instead of the SPS server and it has reversed the position of the
portal name so it comes after the server name instead of before. Why is it
looking for a different name than what was backed up? I assume it is
getting this name from something in the xml file.
