Re: MS Office 2003 Web Component Errors

I'm afraid I'm not surprised.

I've lost a lot of functionality in accessing WSS sites when I added just
OneNote 2007 to a client that was otherwise running Office 2003 and was
never able to recover from it (despite numerous attempts).

(and this was a) delete OneNote 2003 followed by b) install OneNote 2007

I'm afraid that imo the addition of Office 2007 alongside Office 2003 to
this client has probably caused this. You may also experience problems
accessing the site in FP 2003 and in accessing Data*** View (just two of
the problems I remember having).

In the end I was force to re-image and start again.. This time (on a clean
image that included Office 2003) I first of all removed Office 2003 and then
added Office 2007 [I don't have FP 2003 on that client at all]

now at least most things are working.

As for IE7, that also causes some things to start working. Beta3 still
doesn't let you change colours of text in a multi-line field with Bold etc.
support specified. At least Beta2's habit of creating wrong URLs (" "
instead of "%20") has been corrected in Beta 3.

In short, I suspect that there's no way back and that you'll have to use
another machine to access Pivot View.

I have several sharepoints that I manage and one of them has a office
pivot view that I have created. It takes data from a list on the same
sharepoint and presents it graphically. We have been using it for about
6 months.

I have a Windows XP sp2 laptop that had Office 2003 installed on it. I
recently updated it to IE7 and installed Office 2007 beta along side
2003. Now when I go to the sharepoint pivot view I get an indescriptive
error: Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components Error (Title bar of the
window) "failed to get data. If available, errors returned from the
provider are listed below."

There are none. What am I missing?
