I¹m eyeing 2007 myself, it looks like it has a lot more functionality that
we¹ve been looking for, but we have to stick with 2003 for now.

InfoPath can be setup to write to a database. And then you could host the
form in SharePoint if you wanted. The biggest problem is the user has have
InfoPath to fill out the form. This is all 2003 products the store is much
better in 2007.
