I have my SharePoint portal set up to use domain accounts for logins.
When I add new users I have to enter them as "DOMAINNAME\networkname".
We've had employees leave the company and their domain accounts have
been deleted in Active Directory. They still show up in SharePoint.
If I go to an area I created, hit MANAGE SECURITY and try to remove
them I get the error: "Could not find user with corresponding SID in
the domain". They remain listed in the security.
If I go to HOME->"Manage Users" to get the full list of users, can
remove them here, but they STILL show up in the security pages for my
areas and I still get the same error. Is there a way to remove them?
I know I'll probably get people telling me that in the future I need
to delete users frmo SharePoint before deleting them on my network and
I plan on doing so, but SharePoint is something I've inherited
recently so we have a lot of existing users like this.
Is there any kind of hack to the SQL Server database I can perform
which will remove these users?
