This is a SQL setup issue not a SharePoint issue. All content from
SharePoint is stored in a database and if you put that database on a sql
server it is up to SQL to manage that. So all you need to do is a add a SQL
storage solution and put your SQL sharepoint databases on the NAS. Make sure
when you buy a NAS for SQL that it is 100% compatible with SQL. I know
Compaq make SQL cluster and storgage solutions.

Hello,
instead of shared documents saved to the portal server, i've been asked to
set it up so that shared docs save to a network attached storage server
instead (as it has much more storage space and gets backed up daily)
i've been told that it's possible to do this with Sharepoint, keeping the
versioning advantages etc. providing that I use SQL2005 but know nothing
regarding how to set this up.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Simon
