tied up with Alerts, as it is the Alert system that tells the Indexer to crawl
the Public Folder and which finds the new items in the public folder, and
alerts SharePoint to go grab the new message. Since the user management is
tied up with their MySites Alerts page, if you have not allowed MySites in
your portal, you won't get the rest of the functionality.
That's my story and I'm sticking by it.
