Re: chity chatty sharepoint

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I determined that they were more chatty because I have tons of collisions
occurring between the two and the machines have become increasingly more
difficult to perform other task that we were once able to do when they begin
there constant communications. I can halt the chatting by disabling either
host network connection. At that point I can again perform task on those
machines. Task manager tells me that the processes associated with SPS are
sending and receiving most of the network traffic. This did not use to be
the case.

Back when this started, there was not any real changes to the infrastruce.
There has been some changes more recently -- but there has been no
improvement or degradation as a result.

What brings you to the conclusion that they're more chatty than before?
Have you been monitoring them and have something for comparision? Also has
there been any changes either to the servers or the network (additional
routers added, machines moved around in DNS, etc.)

I have sharepoint portal services and IIS running on on server with
w2k3,
and the sharepoint database running on an other server running w2k. They
have been working great for a couple of years. Recently, my network
traffic
between the two has greatly increased. So much so that it is hard to hit
the
pages at times. Any ideas why this may happen over time?
