Not exactly. You told him to put in a alternate access URL using the
admin pages. He actually built a new virtual server in IIS(server2),
mapped it to the original virtual server (server1). He should not have
had to create a second, real virtual server to get this to work. I
suspect he did not create his second dns entry till he created his
second real virtual server.
