My Inbox, My Calendar web part access from extranet

My Inbox, My Calendar Web Parts cannot be displayed from extranet. They
work fine when accessing via default url from within LAN.
Is this by design? How can we configure exchange web parts to work when
user accesses from internet using extranet url?
