Why do you care there is a number in the name?
I don't recommend this or really know for sure it will work but if you are
really this desperate you can try. Create your portal. It will name it
spsdev1_. Then delete your portal but do not delete the databases. Now
rename the databases to whatever you want. (You may have to detach them
from SQL first.) Then go back into SPS do create a portal, then choose
restore. Then you can manually type in the name of the databases you want
to attach to. I have no clue if this will work and I recommend you do not
try this in anything but a test environment. I have NEVER done this before.
