Re: Web Parts

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hmm... I'm not real familiar with the Members Web Part. I was able to
duplicate the same effect in my environment.

Maybe you're account doesn't have enough permissions in the area/portal
you've added the Web Part to? For kicks, grant him admin rights to see if
it's a permission issue at that level. If it's still screwing up... um...
I'd just have to assume that Web Part will not work in SPS, just WSS.

Actually check this the reply to this post by Bil Simser... you shouldn't be
adding users to this web part... it is configured to show the members of a
specified area.

Are you trying to use this Web Part to add people to the portal area (as in
grant them permissions)? If so, then you're out of luck as it's not
designed to do that. You need to use the Manage Security in the portal
Actions menu to grant permissions. If you need a web part to grant people
access to the site, you'll need to roll your own. We had the same
requirement and had to roll our own solution.
