Thats how we are implementing a roll -out. The users work within their
WSS area, they can add announcements and other things, but the
announcements can only be accessed or viewed from with in the WSS. If
they want any data 'corporate wide' then they post it on the portal
sites (plus any audiences). My reasoning for this disconnect is the
info that they advertise may be very different in content that what
they would post with in th department WSS. Security is a little easier.
They can also post a link into the WSS for more info.
Does that make sense. The information is quite different so in my view
there is no duplication of data. Im sure there is another way but this
provides a level of seperation so people also know if they post it here
these people can see it and if they do it over there those people will
see it.
