Sharepoint search - problem searching meta and problem with results page
We are using sharepoint to search our MCMS based web site, we have a
custom .aspx search form using the query service to search and display
results.
I have two questions:
1. Although the search results page is displaying the meta description
like we would like, it isn't including the meta description in the
search. Is there a way to do that? I see that if I go to the sharepoint
portal and do a search there, that the meta description is being
searched.
2. For search results that don't have a meta description, the first few
lines of content are returned, which is fine. But if the content
includes links, the link and the linked text are stripped out. For
instance, if the one of the search results is "About Us" and that first
few lines of content are "We provide a range of services and resources to
professionals, lay leaders, and students.", the description just
displays "We provide a range of to professionals, lay leaders, and
students." Any way to stop the text from being stripped out?
Thanks!
