Descriptive information

I just imported all the documents and descriptive information from SPS 2001
into a collection of SPS 2003 topic areas. The associated 'Document
Listings' created for each document is missing the 'Description' of the
document. I can see the Description when I go into the 'Document Library',
but not in the Document Listings.
Another question.... How do I modify the columns to display the version of
the document? After the import, the latest version was displayed under
'FriendlyDescriptionID', but after modifying the document, this field does
not change.
