Thanks. I think I need help with the design full-stop.
What I'm actually trying to achieve is two-fold;
1. To have Team and Meeting sites available to groups of external users.
External users just need to access sites they have been sent invites for or
team sites for which they have access rights. This set of sites should use
account creation - I do not have time to keep adding users to AD on behalf of
the meeting organisers and I'm not giving them rights to the AD.
2. To have a Portal site for internal users that ties it all together for us.
Internal users also get personal sites and can search all the Portal, Team
and Meeting sites. Ideally, this portal should use pre-existing domain
accounts.
The thing is, we collaborate with all the external users, but they don't
collaborate with each other! :)
Is it possible to run Sharepoint Team Services on an externally facing
server, with Portal server on an internal server, but both use the same data?
Am I even on the right track here? :s
