Eli responded with some questions:
-Why did you stop companyweb or the default web site?
- Is companyweb also the machine name or did you configure a DNS entry
and IIS host header?
- Is the companyweb virtual server running in the default web site?
- What happens when you open these sites in IE from the machine that
serves it, logged in as an admin?
My response:
I may be missing the point, what I've been doing is looking at the IIS
site list and the virtual server list--which tells me that the path for
my SET SharePoint Extranet site should be http://192.168.0.27:8888.
As for the Default Web Site ("companyweb"), that's built into SBS
(Small Business Server) and it's basically a "configure my pc on the
network" site, so I've just disabled it for debugging purposes. I'm
not sure how that was configured but it comes with SBS.
As for what site refers to the Portal itself, I don't know how that's
configured yet as I _just_ upgraded. Perhaps this is a naïve
response, but I'd rather air on the side of safety then give you the
wrong answer. How could I find out this answer?
The machine's name is roark, but 192.168.0.27 is what I've been using
to access for debugging purposes. For whatever reason
http://192.168.0.27:8888 goes to a different place than
http://roark:8888. The former brings up a login screen that fails with
" You are not authorized to view this page" and the latter goes to
forbidden (403).
When on the server and I try to login to the sites, I can access every
site you saw listed except for the one I'm trying to get to: "SET
SharePoint Extranet".
I hope that helps some more...Thank you!
