The big reason that we us WSS is that you can set permissions for each individual web part (document library) whereas on the portal site of the house, permissions are set for the area/subarea. So if you have multiple Doc Libraries in SPS everyone that has access to that area will have permission to modify each document library in that area. Would prefer to have the same permissions set in both SPS and WSS, hopefully in version 3 of Portal.
