Kate Thanks for the reply Although not 100% what I was after it has put me on a different tack. I do have access through the proxy but I publish my portal server on the firewall so that http headers that start with porta.kings-ely... at the firewall are automatically routed inward to the portal server I also publish an internal Exchange server the same way so perhaps this is causing the problem but I do not know enough about how RSS feeds are formulated.

Perhaps I sould try my server on a completely different port to sepearte it from other web traffic. Watch this space! Thanks
