I would like to learn, is it possible to use Search Server like Lucene search
engine? I mean is it able to index the columns of table on SQL Server, and
get the results according to those indexes? I could not find any article
about that on web. If you know any source on web about it, I will be happy to
know...
If there's a usenet group for sharepoint search (not sure if there is
this minute) you should post this question there.
That said, the usual answer to this question would be to set up BDC
(MOSS Enterprise feature) to connect to SQL and then use MOSS search
via that BDC connection. It requires a fair amount of configuration.
I don't know if people really go to the trouble very often, though
I've heard it demo's very well.
