Reserved content types in MOSS 2007

When creating custom content types, the user is sometimes warned that a
particular content type name is reserved (e.g. Person).
Two questions:
- is there a comprehensive list somewhere of the reserved names and content
types (presumably the ones that MOSS itself reserves for creation of site- or
list-specific content types)?
- as the content type ID (and not the name) is the main handle for all
operations, why can't a custom type use any name that it wants? For example I
might want to create a custom "Person" content type but with a specific use
in mind and a distinct content type ID (compare this issue with custom column
IDs and names, where you can create a custom column with a unique name and
then change the display name to whatever you want - the stored name is the
unique handle)
.
