Hi Paul,

Thanks for the response.

When I set up a datasource, I have to specify exactly where I want it to be

I am setting up some site templates, and one of the form libraries will use
my Infopath form template as its template. When I create a new site from the
tempate, the form will be submitted back to the original site won't it (as
this is what is hard coded into the form)? or am I missing something here?

Thanks again for your response"galvin.p...@xxxxxxxxx" wrote:

Is it possible to have an infopath form (web based or client based) that

Alternately, can you force a particular file name to be used when a user
saves a form?

Basically, I want all of the forms created to have a consistent naming
convention, however the form template could be created in a large number of
different libraries.

If I allow the form to be submitted, I can force it to be saved with a
particular file name, but I have to specify where it is to be submitted to
when I design the form. If I allow the user to save the form, then they can
give it any name, which is not desirable.

Looking forward to any assistance.

Thanks in advance

You can definitely have an infopath form submit to its own library and
specify the name of the form in the library when it's saved.

Start off by creating a new data source which is a sharepoint list.
The various dialog boxes that follow should give you some good clues
as how to proceed.

I don't know the answer to that but I think you're right.

I've seen some posts asking about and maybe even providing a solution
for this. I'd search the MSDN forum and the USENET groups for more
details. If you find anything definitive or figure it out, please
post back. I haven't run into this requirement but it's just a matter
of time.
