Transfer Document properties, conversion to PDF, transfer b/n sites

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,
This was originally asked in microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices but got no reply.

We face an issue of our own making: we have decided on two separate Doc Libraries in WSS to handle Document Creation (Lib A) and Public Document Access (Lib B).
Lib A is secured so that only a select group can access it, add, edit, manage docs (MS Word, MS Visio) in it.
Lib B is for everyone to view.

We create docs in Lib A, print to PDF, then publish (i.e. copy) to Lib B. Currently we have no smarts to accomplish this.

A number of questions:
1. Can we create PDFs with some sort of web part or component?
2. Document Properties stored in Columns in Lib A need to be transferred with the PDF across to Lib B, can this be scripted in any way? We currently convert to PDF using a tool that doesn't necessarily save all Custom Properties into the PDF
3. Can we automate the entire process of publishing?

Any ideas, help appreciated!
Ben
