Active Directory Resolution of Users Possible through SharePoint A

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Through the SharePoint API, is it possible to determine if a particular login
name has access to a site if they were granted access to that site via an AD
group? In other words, can I test if "DOMAIN\USER" has access to a web if
they were granted to that web via membership to "DOMAIN\GROUP". So far, all
of my attempts report that the user has zero access even though I know that
they can get to the web. If one can determine access level, the next step I
need is to get the permissions mask for that user.

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- Thanks!

Matt
