Change Area Contact Information programatically

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I need to change the Area Contact information for certain areas by
code. I use the same page elements as in the
_layouts/1033/speditcategory.aspx to do this. Point is, when I have
picked the user-account in the user-picker I don't know where to save
the information exactly.

I use the Owner... properties of the area, but that doesn't seem to be
covering it all, because in the Area Details Webpart on my site this
doesn't change the Contact for my area.

Has anyone done something like this before?
