Via a measured escalation in rights, it appears that it was sufficient to
give the app pool identity 'owner' rights on the PROF database for the
parent portal. This step has removed the error.
It would be nice, however, to get a comprehensive list of the minimum rights
needed at the db level in a shared services environment as described in the
solution accelerator document.
