As far as I can tell, the portal indexing cannot index versions, since there
are no links to them to crawl. You could add a listing that linked to each
version and they would show up in the search then, but as listings linking
to the documents. I'm looking at build a custom IFilter for the search, but
I haven't had the time yet. Anyone else doing anything along that vein?
As to the triggers, who knows what that is doing. The portal databases are
complex, and there is not and will not be any public documentation on them.
Modifications to them are not supported by Microsoft. My suggestion would
be to remove them and don't modify the databases unless absolutely
nessesary, and make sure you have a clean backup when you do.
