I've been playing with the HR site template found here
(http://www.sharepointcustomization.com/wss/default.htm)
Few questions in the way this is setup - make sure I'm
understanding it correctly. Basically, it appears that any
changes to this site have to be made in Frontpage. When
logged in as admin, I can't seem to add new web parts to
the home page, or edit existing web parts. I can only go
to Documents and Lists and edit the chunks of content from
there. This is unintuitive - and still involves a
development team if you want to add features to the site.
I don't want to have to add new features to HR's home
page - they should. Am I missing something?
Second - if I choose "add new basic page or add new web
part page" from the create options, it gives me a range of
pages to choose from. However, what if I want to force a
template with the quick launch, etc? I don't see a way to
only allow certain templates for new pages created (i.e.
the dwtthirdlevel.dwt template that comes with the site).
Am I missing something?
It's also very unintuitive when I create a new page that I
have to store it in a document library. It's like it's
optimized for creating pages in Frontpage, not via the
web. Am I missing something?
