Re: Prompt to overwrite file

Since this is very unlikely to be a shared hallucination ;) , let's try to look at some of the unlikely things that could lead to this. Could you post back with the following info?

(1) Complete contents of the script file, with confidential info munged of course. I can think of no way something could get triggered by coincidental code, but if we know the code precisely, we know exactly what's happening. This also lets us get an idea about what cSVRPATH and cLOCPATH are.
(2) What's the name used for the shortcut and the script file?
(3) Just to make absolutely sure that everything is proper, even though you've probably already done this, from her account on her machine could you recheck the shortcut that she is clicking - look at its properties and if they look fine, confirm the path (presumably a network path) from the machine?
(4) get the precise text of the prompting message you mentioned, if it lasts long enough to do so.
(5) What's her computer's operating system version?
(6) Is her system portable, and do you have DFS on the network?

Obviously, the copy graphic you're seeing is coming from somewhere, and we do need to figure out where and why. Answering these questions should help bracket the areas that we're dealing with a bit.

And don't led this fill you with a sense of dread, but this is actually an intriguing problem. ;)

That's not due to the code you posted - impossible! What you describe
is the result of a Shell.Application CopyHere implementation. Better
go look at the actual code that that user is running. It's not what
you think it is (or I've just slip into an alternate universe, Worf,
IYNWIM ;-)

Maybe it's impossible, but that is what happens. I gave her a shortcut that launchs a VBScript sitting in a shared folder. Everyone has the same shortcut. There is only one script file.
