Hi there,

I try to disable DIrectory Inheritance via XCACLS.VBS by copying the
existing ones with the /I-Option.
Doing so results in an error message:
Command-Line:

xcacls D:\temp /i copy

ErrorMessage:
Directory: D:\temp
Error -2147217404: occurred setting RetVal =
objFileSecSetting.ExecMethod_("SetSecurityDescriptor", objInParam)
(Msg#4306)
Error description: Fehler beim Anbieter --> Means: Error from supplier

The other /I-Switches (REMOVE, ENABLE) work fine.
Any ideas?

Regards
Jochen

The command runs fine on my machine. I suggest you try this:
- Run the command for some folders other than d:\temp.
- Try to remove/restore inheritance manually from d:\temp.
The results of your tests might point you in the right direction.
