Terminate would shutdown the program but not cleanly. The big picture is
need do a midnight installation of new software on some 5000 machines. The
problem comes in because with 5000 users, some hundreds will leave the
application running when they go home for the day and will not have saved
their work.
A simple memo from upper management telling all users that, regardless of
the program being automatically shutdown at midnight every night, they are
responsible for saving their own work. Any losses (in and program) due to a
workers' failure to save in a timely manner (negligence) assumes the same
consequences as if the work had been purposely destroyed or not performed at
all.
