installing norton internet security

Many thanks for your reply.

What actually happens is that once the cd is inserted
into the drive and I try to access the e drive or click
on the icon it shows absolutely nothing, it does not
recognise that there is a cd in the drive at all.

I have tried a lot of different options, I have visited
the Norton home page and gone through a whole list of
procedures. Although I think I have deleted all the
remains of the old Norton, there must be something left
as the cd itself is actually ok.

It's just got to the point where I cannot think of
anything else. At one stage and only one it actually
recognised the cd and listed the contents but I couldn't
do anything with them. Nothing since though.
