Detecting VBScript Viruses?

I'm looking for a good anti-virus scanner that will:

1. Detect and alert me when an MS Office document that has a VBScript virus
is OPENED,
***and***,
2. Alert me when I DOWNLOAD a POP3 email with Outlook that has an infected
attachment, such as an MS Office document with an VBScript virus.

You'd think I can find this by asking the manufacturers, but NO, their
support either skirts the issue by telling me to "scan my entire computer",
or they give me a generic hotkeyed "you are alerted when an infected file is
executed" and refuse to answer specifics on VBScript viruses. They hotkey me
that they "automatically scan inbound (POP3) and outbound (SMTP) email and
email attachments", but cannot tell me that they nail VBScript office
infections.

I've gone thru this runaround with Trend Micro and V-COM.

I'm looking for an alternative to Norton Antivirus.
