It worked for me in IE6, which I no longer have, and works in IE7, Opera
9, & Firefox 2. Safari 3.1 sets document.lastModified to an empty
string.
<URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/vb-date2.htm#lM> may help you.Get's the error "types incompatible" for your CDate - example. No
option for me.
Similarly for IE6 & IE7.
Your real name being Jörg Trumpfheller, I suspect that you, and your
operating system, may have German locale. Could it be that your
document.lastModified is localised in a manner incompatible with new
Date("...") and CDate("..."), where the American dialect is expected?
But entering by hand the date that will be of significance to the reader
is better, because it allows surreptitious spelling corrections.
