RE: Having a link launch Word

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello Dave,
Thanks for your prompt reply.

But, I'm afraid you pass the wrong parameter to ftype command. "XMLFile" is
the key word. We needn't to replace it with the actual filename.
Could you please try it again with "ftype xmlfile"?

Please type "ftype xmlfile" in your Command Prompt directly.
This command line will output the application which is associated with xml
file extension on your current machine.

For example:
C:\>ftype xmlfile
==========================================================
xmlfile="c:\programe File\Common files\microsoft
shared\OFFICE12\MSOXMLED.EXE" /verb open "%1"

By the way, please also let me know which version of Windows (NT/2k/XP/2k3)
you are running on your test machines.

If you have any more concern, please also feel free to let me know. It's my
pleasure to assist you.
Have a great day,
Best regards,

Wen Yuan
