Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

In general, I try not to respond to any abusive comments. Sometimes if a
thread has already gotten heated I respond to the original question (as best
as I can) as if I never saw the heated language. I try to be blind to it. If
it seems directed to me, I stay away from the thread.

hi group,

Seeking guidance here, in the proper way to respond to
hostile and/or abusive comments.

From time-to-time, I get disrespect when:

- I provide an appropriate answer, but it's not what the O.P.
wanted to hear,

- My answer is off-the-mark, either because I mis-read the O.P.
or because the O.P. left out some relevant detail,

- My response is flat-out wrong, because I made some erroneous
assumption about the situation that the O.P. had described,
leading me to some inappropriate advice or recommendation.

A wise old man once offered the following advice:

"Whenever you wish to make an angry or cynical response,
think it over for 24 hours, THEN JUST DON'T SAY IT"...

What would be your advice?

cheers, jw

p.s. Thus far, my standard response has been to go to the
"message filter" dialog, and screen out any further messages
from that person.
