CDONTS, ActiveX, and Error

All,
I've searched the web and, while I have found lots of useful
information, I haven't found what I was looking for.
I have a VBScript that has been running for almost 2 years with no
problems--this was one of those Bob is leaving so we need you to be
the point-of-contact for this thing situation. It is scheduled to run
on a Windows 2003 server.
Over the weekend, our server team downloaded and installed the MS
patches for the month. The day the patches were installed was the
first day the script failed. Now, I can't get them to admit to any
other changes so I'm blaming an obscure change in some patch for the
issue. Can anyone corroborate this theory? I've tried searching
through the update text and found no mention of anything I thought
could be related (granted, I skimmed them). I tried searching the web
and found nothing related to this. So, I thought I would ask the
group. Do you know of anything in the most recent round of patches
that would cause CDONTS to throw an "ActiveX component can't create
object" error?
I went ahead and changed the scripts to use CDONTS. The correct dll
should be installed and registered on the server (remember, it had
been working for almost 2 years with no problems). I'd say just
forget about it, but my boss wants a bit more than my hunch.
Thanks in advance for the help.
