Is this actually the original local administrator account just renamed
to something else? If so, you may not be able to delete it, but
another option may be to rename it to something else and just change
the password.
Try going to a command prompt and typing
Control userpasswords2
Then removing it that way. That has worked for me in the past on
non-original administrative accounts. Otherwise from there you can
rename the account and change the password as well as verify the groups
that the account is in.
If this works, then you script changing the username and password.
Is the domain regulated by GPO. If so it is possible that a group
policy is the culprit. It is possible to rename local administrator
accounts automatically by group policy. Even if you try to remove the
account when not connected to the domain, the group policies are still
in effect on the laptop and can reset things that you have changed.
