It is a sad day when I have to asking this question here. I have tried
PS SEC, I have tried the beta group I am in that deals directly with
patches, I have tried my TAM, even our AE. Nothing.
Please, please, please! Can someone identify the registry keys that will
verify that affected software is installed, pertaining to the list of
software in KB883987, better known as MS04-028
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms04-028.mspx For my
non SMS clients I have to create a VBS/WSH script to install the
patches, the script has to identify if the software is or is not
installed in order to launch the setup of the patch. I use regread to
look and see if the software is installed and if it is then launch the
patch so it runs without user intervention.
I have done the obvious ones, office, OS, IE. but the others I need to
know what keys will verify that the software is installed. I can search
the registry and find keys pertaining to these products, but I need to
make sure they are the right ones.
