Actually, your agreement (though good of itself) is irrelevant.
Cross-posting IS sending one physical copy of an article marked to
appear in more than one newsgroup (normally by listing them on the
Newsgroups: line of the composing system). If the number of newsgroups
is small and the article relevant to each of them, it is generally
considered good, or at least acceptable, practice.
Multi-posting IS sending more than one physical copy to different groups
(normally by copy'n'paste). It is generally considered to be bad
practice, being inefficient use of Net & human resources.
That's established Usenet (Big-8) nomenclature. While other hierarchies
may have different rules, having different terminology would be
ridiculous.
