Hello
When I expand "Services and Applications" in Computer Management, I
receive a popup titled "SQL Server Configuration Manager" and that
says "MMC has detected an error in a snap-in. It is recommended that
you shut down and restart MMC"
If I choose "Report this error to Microsoft, and then shut down MMC."
then the following event is logged in the server's Application Event
Log:
Source: Microsoft Management Console
Category: None
Type: Error
Event ID: 1000
The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Management
Console ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the
necessary registry information or message DLL files to display
messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /
AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for
details. The following information is part of the event:
sqlmanager.dll, 2005.90.1399.0, sqlmanager.dll, 2005.90.1399.0,
0000000000027c78.
Here are some more details on the brand new system:
Clean install of Windows 2003 Server Enterpise Edition x64
SQL 2005 Enterprise Edition x64
All service packs and hotfixes have been installed.
Why am I receiving this error? This is happening on two new servers.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Sean
