Hello
I am having a troubling problem. I am trying to install SQL Server
2005 developer edition, that I have through MSDN. However I cannot get
any of the components to install on my computer. I am running Windows
XP with SP2 and Visual Studio 2005. I also have Office 2007 installed
on this computer. When I run through the installation of SQL 2005, the
first thing to go wrong is that it says it cannot install OWC11
components, and then proceeds to install the smaller parts of SQL
Server, the client, sqlxml stuff... and fails on every major component
after. Workstation Tools, Database server, reporting, analysis,
notification, integration services... and they leave no setup error log
so I cannot see what is going wrong. I don't know what I could be
doing wrong, I have uninstalled any of the .NET 3.0 framework and
"Orcas" stuff that I have had on here, and I am thinking about
uninstalling office 2007, except for the fact that I already activated
it...I'm open to suggestions, personally I don't want to run the
server, on this machine, and would settle for just the Workstation
development tools. I am setting up a totally clean windows 2003
machine with sql server developer edition on it, and will use this
machine to connect to that one and do development.
Thanks for any help
