[Q] Installation failure -- "Pending File Operations" - What gives?

    Hi,

    When I attempt to install the Developer Edition of Microsoft's SQL Server
    2000 I get the following pop-up dialog:

    "A previous program created pending file operations on the installation
    machine. You must restart the computer before runing setup."

    I've rebooted. I've uninstalled my virus protection... All to no avail.

    Any ideas,
