    You need at least SP3 or SP3a on Win2k3 (security bugs in pre-SP3
    releases)...

    I don't have MSDE, but the normal version, just install it
    and apply SP3 to it and it all works.

    I believe MSDE can be downloaded where it includes SP3 right away...
