Why Microsoft stops support for http endpoints - native xml web services
technology in future versions of MSSQL?
I don't know the exact reason, but my guess would be that (1) they weren't
all that popular a feature (they were just introduced in 2005), and (2)
there was probably a lot of pushback from admins concerning security and
other issues.
The Entity Framework, ASP.NET Data Services, or just plain old .NET web
services might be good to consider as replacements if you currently use http
endpoints.
