I have installed on a user the SQL Server Management Studio Express

Not really sure what button that is (I hardly use the toolbar) or
whether it may be a permission issue.
However, since the table designer is a piece of crap, I would rather
see it as a feature that it's not available.
Use the various sp_helpxxx insted to find information, and ALTER TABLE
commands to make changes.
