Hi Betty,
I understand that you could not add a remote SQL Server instance in BIDS
when you were developing a SSIS package due to the connection error "could
not reconnect to "66" (which is part of the server IP), make sure that the
machine name and path are valid".
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

To let me better understand your issue, could you please answer me the
following questions:
1. What is the name you input when you click "Add Server"?

2. Why would you like to add a server when you developed a SSIS package?
Generally it is not necessary, if you would like to connect to a remote SQL
Server instance in your SSIS package, you can just add a connection manager
in your SSIS project and then use the connection manager in your tasks.
Also it is no need to install BIDS on your remote server, however if you
want to deploy your SSIS package to the remote server, you have to ensure
that SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) must be running on that server.

3. What did you want to implement in your SSIS package?
