The strange thing is, i know the database is up&running (i can browse our
website), and i know the username/pwd supplied by the hosting company is
still valid because:
(a) I can log into the remote DB via VS2005 using those credentials no
problem, and
(b) If I login in to a local DB from within Sql Server Mgmt studio, I can
successfully Import/Export data to/from the remote DB that I'm not being
allowed to log into!!!

The obvious thing to check is Caps Lock and that. Passwords are
always case-sensitive.

You can also try log in with SQLCMD from the command line.
