I recall that in earlier CTPs it was explicitly said that this does not
work. I don't think that I saw this in the Readme for the November CTP,
but you definitely want to double-check that.
Then again, keep in mind that SQL 2008 is still beta software, and don't
install it on a machine you don't want to flatten and reinstall. I strongly
recommend running betas on spare machines or virtual machines.
and for bonus points:
Can Visual Studio 2005 be installed and used on the same system as
Visual Studio 2008 ?
Obviously a VS forum is a better venue for that question. I have not
looked a single second on VS 2008, but I would be very surprised if
VS 2008 and VS 2005 can't co-exist. One of my computers has all versions
of VS from VS6 to VS 2005, a total of four of them.
